United States History and Travel is the premier site on the internet for U.S. history, vacation planning and everything else American.
USHistoryAndTravel.com is a user-contributed site. We provide the basic framework, but you, the user, are the ones keep our database current. We believe this works out best for everyone. Imagine if every person in the U.S. just entered a few local historical spots from their town? We'd all be able to make our own personal favorite vacation plans!
We just simply ask you to give a little bit of your town's history, and read alot about the history from all across the country!
This site is still new and growing. It has long term goals to provide:
- "Today in History" feature, displaying U.S. historical events that occurred each day.
- "Did you know?" section that details fascinating facts about American history.
- In depth research on topics such as American Presidents, wars such as the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, World War II, and so forth.
- Information on hundreds of historical landmarks, museums, battlefields and monuments celebrating our nation.
- A vacation planner, to assist in finding monuments of interest, searchable by themes, location, etc.
- And much more!
